If you are housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery and you think you require a home visit please telephone your usual surgery between 08.00 and 10.00. You will be asked for a description of the problem so that the doctor or nurse can judge its urgency. They may call you back to obtain further details of the problem.
Please note the following when requesting a home visit:
- If an urgent visit is required please ensure the receptionist or nurse is made aware
- A doctor can see 3 or 4 patients at the surgery in the time it takes to complete a home visit. The facilities at the surgery are better for many examinations and treatments than in the home. Therefore we kindly ask that a request for a home visit be made only when the patient is genuinely too ill to leave the house
- A doctor or nurse may phone you back as they may be able to deal with your problem over the phone or arrange for you to be visited by the Community Nursing Team
